UTAS migration survey

Investigating migratory behaviours and experiences from the last five years

Migrants, both interstate and international, who have moved to or from Tasmania in the last five years are encouraged to contribute to a University of Tasmania research project to help understand migratory behaviours and experiences.

The results of this survey will provide insight into Tasmania's demographics and inform decision makers on which levers could help increase population.  The Tasmanian Government have set a target to grow the population to 650,000 by 2050 (the September 2015 population was estimated as 517,183).
