Research Week 2016

Discover how the University of Tasmania’s excellence in research is transforming the state, the nation and the globe through engagement, collaboration and innovation.

The University of Tasmania will host its annual Research Week (27 August – 2 September), showcasing its research excellence across the state and beyond.

The year’s theme Engage, Collaborate, Innovate will bring together a host of events including lectures, expos, workshops and forums designed to inform and enlighten the broader community.

Headlining this year’s event is the inaugural UHack competition being held simultaneously in Hobart and Launceston on the weekend of August 27-28.  Open to the community, UHack are inviting teams of designers, innovators and entrepreneurs from across the state to pitch their ground-breaking ideas in a bid to claim prizes.

Further to UHack, there are also a number of community events including research expos from the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) and the Menzies Institute for Medical Research; public lectures; and the Graduate Research Conference featuring the hotly contested Three Minute Thesis (3MT).
