NBN and AWS to host "Choose your own Adventure Career Day"
Posted on by firstname.lastname@example.org
To be held on the 21st July 2021, this day will demonstrate to students considering a pathway in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) that there is a thriving industry filled with female scientists, developers, tech entrepreneurs, engineers, and mathematicians.
Diverse representation in many areas of STEM is sorely lacking, whether in mainstream science programs or industry-specific roles. This lack of diverse role models today, impacts our ability to attract more students to address this imbalance and we would like to see this changed. We want to show students that there are endless pathways to STEM careers starting with integrating more images and career stories from graduates, scientists, technologist, engineers, and mathematicians that have taken less than conventional pathways to STEM careers.
We offer a variety of benefits to our students and are eager to establish this virtual event to showcase the career journey of nbn women and women across the STEM industry. We are especially keen to illustrate to female students the types of roles available in STEM and the range of career pathways that exist to reach various roles. STEM surprisingly, is part of our daily lives. Science is everywhere in the world around us and Technology is continuously expanding into every aspect of our lives. We are hoping that the event encourages creativity, thinking-out-of-the-box, working as a team, communicating effectively, empowering critical thinking skills, boost curiosity, cognitive skills, exploring and finding the student’s own STEM adventure at an early age whilst learning how to take the initiative to do so.
This event will be held on the 21st July 2021 from 9.00am until 11.00am
