National Stronger Regions Fund

Round 3 Announcements

On 7 October 2016 the Australian Government announced 67 infrastructure projects to receive $126.5m under Round Three of NSRF.

Two of the successful applications were from Tasmania, well done to:

  • Circular Head Council for their project to develop the Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre, and;
  • Northern Midlands Business Association for their project to construct a Truck Wash facility at Powranna.

The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development can arrange feedback sessions for applicants, contact

RDA Tasmania cannot provide feedback on applications but we can meet with applicants to discuss their project proposals and future funding opportunities.

This was the last round of National Stronger Regions Fund, but the Australian Government recently announced the new Building Better Regions Fund to support infrastructure projects and community initiatives in areas outside of major capital cities.  Guidelines for the Building Better Regions Fund are currently being finalised.

The forthcoming $25 million Regional Tasmania Jobs and Investment Package will begin with a community-led local planning process to identify opportunities for business grants, infrastructure and training programmes.
