A $2 million Tasmanian Government program
The Growing Apprenticeships and Traineeships program will help address both industry and region specific barriers to grow the number of apprentice and trainee places available across the state.
Up to $200,000 is now available for projects delivered with eligible organisations including industry associations and regional associations, or through partnerships with individual businesses, training providers, group training organisations or apprenticeship network providers.
Proposals must demonstrate that they will help to employ apprentices and trainees and could include:
- wage subsidies
- support services (ie. transport, language, literacy and numeracy support)
- mentoring support
- employer/ industry liaison costs, or
- activities to specifically address identified regional issues or support non-traditional engagement (ie. women in building industry).
This funding will help build collaborative relationships between industry, employers, community organisations, and training organisations in the long term to directly tackle issues that limit the employment of apprentices and trainees.
Applications close on 5 March 2019.
