The Australian Digital Inclusion Index 2016 shows Tasmania still lagging.
The Australian Digital Inclusion Index (ADII) measures digital access, affordability and ability across geographic locations annually and is in the third year of data collection.
While overall Australians are spending more time and accessing more online including education, information, government and community services, some are still missing out on the benefits of connection.
Tasmania is the only state or territory with declining results and while Hobart is the most digitally included sub-region, it has gradually declined over the last three years and Southern Tasmania is the least digitally included region of the state, and among the top 5 least digitally included regions in Australia.
