Warren Butler

Teacher/Facilitator, Tasmanian Polytechnic

The issues closest to my heart are community and organisational development through cooperative and creative initiatives, social justice and sustainable development.

I moved to Tassie (from NSW) in 1992, retrained and settled in the Devonport area. Tasmania offers great opportunities for learning (both formal and informal) and this is a major part of my life and is something I am lucky to share.

My employment history includes eleven years as a TAFE/Polytechnic teacher/facilitator in the Management, Project Management and Human Resources Management areas plus stints with ICT and pre employment courses. I have project management experience with Community Environmental Education (Waterwatch), UTAS tertiary awareness program and the disability sector (DCO). I was self employed as a HR consultant for nine years, plus nineteen years as an Air Traffic Controller mainly in New South Wales. These roles and many past casual and part time jobs in diverse sectors, plus membership of many community organisations, hopefully give me a reasonable grasp of community and regional development issues.

Qualifications - Diplomas of Management, Human Resource Management, Project Management, Aviation (Air Traffic Services) and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
